Pronghorn Antelope |
1. WHERE IT LIVES |
Pronghorn Antelope live in forests and the provinces of Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia.
They also live in grasslands, brush lands, open areas, plains, and deserts. |

2. APPEARANCE |
 |
Pronghorns have horns made of bone instead of antlers and they fall off and regrow each year.
They have a light brown coat of hair with a white belly and bum.
They are about the same size of and elk.
They are about 90 cm high at the shoulder (almost a meter).
They weigh between 75 and 130 pounds

3. FOOD |
Propnghorns are herbivores which means they only eat plants.
They prefer to eat non-woody plants, flowering plants and grass. |

4.PREDATORS |
Their predators are golden eagles, coyotes, and wolves.
To protect themselves from predators they travel in herds. |
5. THE YOUNG |
The babies weigh 5-7 pounds and are born at the end on winter.
When they have babies, they usually have twins

They will flare the white hair on their rump when they are alarmed.
Their horns can be up to 39 inches long.
They can walk less than one hour after they are born.
They are the fastest land mammal in the world. |
