Gopher

1. WHERE IT LIVES

Gophers are found out all through Canada. Gophers do not hibernate instead they store food for the winter.

2. APPEARANCE

A gopher is a small-burrowing rodent; they are brown and sometimes grayish-white. Gophers can grow up to a ruler in length

3. FOOD      

Gophers only feed on plants. Gophers fill the cheeks with food and carry them under ground. They feed on small grasses.   

4.PREDATORS

When gophers are above ground and not in their holes, they can be hunted by dogs, cats, raccoons, weasels, foxes, badgers, coyotes, and hawks.

5. THE YOUNG

Gophers usually live alone except for in mating season.
Gophers can reproduce very fast and that is part of why they quickly become problems.
The babies are born live and not from eggs because they are mammals.

6. INTERESTING FACTS

Gophers are often seen playing around with their friends.
People see them as pests because they destroy fields with their holes and mounds everywhere.
