The people of today, like the people of Ancient Greece, disagree with one another quite often.  Sometimes, disagreements between nations and groups of people lead to war and battle, while other times it leads to change and progress. 

Even though many changes have occurred from the first Olympic Games in 776 B.C. in Greece, to the upcoming 2008 Olympic Games in China, messages of Peace remain the same.  

The Olympic Games have always brought people together in peace.  The theme of the 2008 Olympics is “One World One Dream”, which captures the idea that although we are all different, we all seek peace in our world.   

Read the story entitled The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and complete the mind map summarizing the key points.  Make sure to include information about peace.
