Alligator

Appearance (What they look like)

An alligator’s skin can be green or black.
They have long noses.
Alligators also can’t see very well.
An alligator’s average weight is 800 pounds. Their average length is about 13 feet long, and an alligator’s average life lasts 50 years or more.

Habitat (Where they live)

Alligators prefer warmer areas, made of both land and water, such as swamps. Most alligators live in or near either Southern China or the United States.

Diet (What they eat)

Alligators eat almost anything that they can catch such as birds, fish, turtles, other reptiles, and other small mammals. Alligators prefer to catch prey in water, that’s where they have the upper hand.

Babies

An alligator's mating season is in the spring. A female alligator may lay between 20 and 50 eggs, while only about half of them will live.

Enemies

Humans are the alligator's greatest enemy.
