Frilled Lizard |
 |
Appearance (What they look like)
The color of the lizard is the same as the land it lives on, so some frilled lizards may be brighter than others.
The male (boy) is more colorful than the female (girl).
They are not poisonous or harmful to people. |
|
|
|
Habitat (Where they live)
Frilled Lizards spend most of their time in trees.
They are found in North Australia.
They live in moist and warm forests and also in woodlands. |
|
|
Diet (What they eat)
Frilled lizards are carnivores (meat eaters).
They also eat bugs like ants and spiders.
They hunt on the ground and in the trees. |
| |
|
Babies
The female frilled lizard lays 8-12 soft-shelled eggs at one time. |
|
| |
Enemies
People are the lizard’s biggest enemy.
Some are killed and skinned to be made into wallets and bags.
People gather lizard eggs and hunt the lizards for food. |
