Komodo Dragon |

Appearance (What they look like)
A young Komodo Dragon is usually dark colored with a little bit of yellow, white, green, and black.
When they are young they use their colors to hide themselves.
They climb trees by using their sharp curved claws.
A young Komodo Dragon is 1 foot long and weighs ten pounds.
The male can be as long as 8 to 10 feet long and weigh from 300 to 500 pounds.
The female grows up to 8 feet and weighs up to 200 pounds. |

Habitat (Where they live)
Komodo Dragons live on islands in Indonesia, including the island of Komodo.
They live in hot, humid, grassy lowlands and in rainforests.
They sun themselves to increase their body temperature. |

Diet (What they eat)
It eats almost anything that it can catch or find, including goats, deer, wild boars, other lizards, and carrion (dead meat that it finds). |

Babies
The Females lay the eggs and lay about 12 eggs in a hole.
7 months latter they hatch.
The eggs of a Komodo dragon are about four inches long. |

Enemies
Komodo dragons are at the top of the food chain and therefore have no enemies.
They only have Enemies to the Feral dogs and pigs, when they sometimes dig up the eggs and eat them.
