Rattlesnake

Appearance (What they look like)

Rattle snakes come in lot of different colors varying from brown to greenish with a lot of different markings.

There are 16 different kinds of rattlesnakes, but they all have a rattle on the end of their body that makes a rattling sound.

Habitat (Where they live)

A good home for the rattle snake is where there is a good supply of small animals to eat and where it is warm for them.

Diet (What they eat)

Rattlesnakes feed on rodents and other small animals like rabbits.
They kill their prey by biting them quickly with a poisonous bite.

Babies

The rattlesnake's eggs hatch inside the mother snake, and the babies are born alive.
Baby rattlesnakes are usually small and black or brown.
The rattle on a baby rattlesnake does not work when it is first born.

Enemies

Rattlesnakes can get eaten by bigger snakes like Kingsnakes or by birds like Eagles that fly down and pick them up.

Other Facts
Rattlesnakes are poisonous snakes. If they bite something, their venom (poison) can kill.
