This is really what a newspaper is all about. These are articles or stories about Iqaluit. Start your story with the most important information then add the details in later. Make sure to include the who, what, when, where and why of the story. The first sentence should have the when, where and what of the story.
Example: On Thursday night, south of Iqaluit Nukasuk found a new Inukshuk. Later on in the story add details like: No one knows who built it or why but it looked a lot like the ones that were built by Tukchiwut. Nukasuk says that it may have been built to guide the Inuit to a great fishing spot nearby.

You can write about real things happening in Iqaluit or Nunavut or make up something that could happen.
Make your article as clear as you can. After the rough copy get an editor to check it for mistakes. Your parents or a teacher can help revise your story to make it clearer or more interesting. After it has been checked by your teacher you, your teacher or your parents can type it up. It has to be typed so that we can add it to the newspaper. |
