Artisans are people who made useful or decorative objects. They lived in the cities and in the towns. They created goods for trade. Your task is to create an 8 – 10 slide power point presentation that clearly demonstrates the role of the artisan in Japanese society during the Edo period. To complement your information, include images of Japanese artisans at work, as well as 5 artifacts made by Japanese artisans. Use the Retrieval Chart of Artisan’s work as you complete your research. Your presentation should answer the following questions.
- What was the significance of the role of the artisans on Japanese society?
- How did the artisans work reflect their beliefs and values of the time?
- How did the artisans contribute to Japanese society?
- Who valued the work of the artisans?
- What role did the artisans play in Japanese trade of that time?
- How did the artisan’s role change during isolation?
