Step 1
Complete the chart “For or Against Isolation Policies?” to establish your opinions. Refer to the key items of the National Seclusion Policy to understand the controls place on the interaction between Japanese and foreigners.
Step 2
Once you have clarified your ideas, write your journal entry on the Diary page.

Self-Reflection
After writing your diary entry or journal take some time to self reflect. Carefully edit your historical writing to ensure it is as authentic as possible. If not, go back and revise as necessary
