Using your artifact and the information that you’ve discovered about it, you are going to create a FACT CARD and STORY FROM THE PAST page.

Writing Your Story

1. Research information about the historical group you have been assigned.  Go to the Information on Historical Groups file to find your information. Use this information to fill in your FACT CARD and complete your story writing WEB.

2. Imagine that you are a person that used this artifact in the early years of Alberta’s settlement.  Tell your story as an actual person in history or create your own imaginary character. Be sure to include information on the following on your web and in your story:
   

   When you came to Alberta Where you came from? Where you are going to settle? What are some challenges you face? Tell about your family? (Real or fictitious) What you use the artifact for? How does the artifact fit into your daily life? Your story should be approximately two paragraphs long.

   
   
3. Write your story on the STORY FROM THE PAST page. Read the SAMPLE STORY for ideas.
